İrlanda’nın en iyi üniversitelerinden biri olan University College Cork, QS World University Rankings sıralamasında 283. sırada yer almaktadır ve böylelikle İrlanda`nın en iyi 4. üniversitesi olmaktadır.
İrlanda’nın güney şehirlerinden Cork`ta yer alan üniversite 2010 yılında “Uluslararası Yeşil Bayrak” ödülünü almıştır. Çevresel sürdürülebilirlik adına verilen bu ödülü dünyadaki üniversiteler arasında alan ilk kurumdur.
“Kraliçenin Okulu” manasına gelen “Queen`s College” payesine sahip olan 3 okuldan biridir. Diğer iki okul ise Belfast ve Galway`dedir.
